About St. Hildegard
Hildegard of Bingen was a German Benedictine abbess, mystic, writer, artist, composer, philosopher, pharmacist, theologian, preacher, and visionary. She wrote theological, botanical, and medicinal texts, as well as liturgical songs, and poems. She was praised for the humility with which she received God's gifts and for the rich theological content of her mystical visions.
Hildegard's visions caused her to see people as "living sparks" of God's love, coming from God as daylight comes from the sun. She saw the harmony of God’s creation and the place of all people in that.
"God hugs you. You are encircled by the arms of the mystery of God.”
